Why HSBC statements don't import into Sage directly
Sage imports bank data from CSV, not PDF, so a HSBC statement has to be converted first. HSBC prefixes rows with payment-type codes (DD, SO, VIS); the converter keeps the meaningful description and drops the clutter.
